Just a few days after Real Madrid youngster Martin Odegaard was linked with a loan move to Liverpool, rumours of him heading to France has been doing rounds.

The youngster has endured a tough start to life with the La Liga giants, making just one appearance for the Real senior side since his £3 million moves from Stromsgodset in 2015.

Odegaard, who joined the Real over Liverpool, was said to be ‘desperate’ to move to Anfield on loan, according to the Daily Mail but now Norwegian daily VG has claimed that the 17-year old is all set to join French club Rennes on a season-long deal.

The daily reported that the deal could happen as soon as this weekend, depending on the outcome of Real Madrid’s appeal against a FIFA embargo, which is due to be revealed on Saturday.

With Real trying to give the youngster a good first-team experience, it seems that Odegaard’s move to Rennes might materialise as it looks tough that he would get a chance to play in Liverpool’s first team.
