Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has urged Arsene Wenger to sign Liverpool star Raheem Sterling. The 20-year-old has rejected contract offers from the Merseyside outfit, and will not discuss his future at Liverpool until the end of the season as he now wants to concentrate on his football.
He tweeted: “Come on arsene ! Go in and get ” Raheem the dream Sterling ” from Liverpool and play him where he wants!”
Sterling’s agent Aidy Ward is believed to be demanding £140,000-per-week for the England star, but reports suggest Liverpool are ready to play hardball with Sterling. In a recent interview, the European Golden Boy winner vowed to get back Liverpool in the Champions League and improve his goal scoring ratio.
He said: “We’ve been in great form in recent weeks and I am just trying to contribute as much as I can to obviously help the team get into the top four. But I think we are more than capable of doing that.
“We’ve all got weaknesses. My main focus now is to try and improve my goalscoring ratio, practising my finishing in training day in, day out and trying to get to the level I know I can get to. It only takes a matter of time.”
Meanwhile, Raheem Sterling is fit to face top 4 rivals Arsenal after he was allowed to return to Melwood following England’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Lithuania on Friday. It was earlier reported Sterling had a toe injury, despite that Roy Hodgson started him against Lithuania. The 20-year-old scored his first goal and assisted another for the national side as they beat Lithuania 4-0.
