Fued with Mourinho to cost Arsenal yet another transfer target

It has not been a summer to remember for Arsene Wenger who is busier than he would have wanted for the last few days of the transfer window.

The manager is under pressure to add some big names to his squad in the off season but the French manager has not been able to lure any of his top transfer targets this summer.

The Gunners are a bit weak in defense with the likes of Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista both picking up lengthy injuries leaving the club with just Rob Holding Laurent Koscielny as the only two senior center backs available for selection.

This has seen the manager look at the likes of Shkodran Mustafi, Jonny Evans and Omar Toprak to add some depth to his back line.

However, for various reasons, Wegner has not been able to get his hands on any of the names and is still looking at other options in the summer.

One such player who is recently linked with a move to Arsenal is Manchester United outcast Phil Jones.

The 24-year old England international did not have a proper pre-season under his belt due to injuries and was reportedly out of favor at Old Trafford under the new manager Jose Mourinho.

This has seen a number of clubs make a move for him this summer with Arsenal the most high profile of them.

However, it is now revealed that Jones is ready to stay in Manchester and fight for his place and that he will not be sold this summer.

Reports reveal that Jose Mourinho has rejected an offer from Arsenal for a  loan deal for the 24-year old and claims that it is because the United manager is not ready to do any deal with the Frenchman incharge of the Emirates.

Both managers have no love lost with their previous encounters on and off the field and have never been able to resolve their problems over the years.

It will come as a blow for the Gunners who would have loved to take Jones, who has experience in England, to help his team this season.

It will be interesting to see who Arsene Wenger now turns to after being snubbed yet again.
