Germany Legend Warns Arsenal: You Cannot Sign This Bundesliga Star

Germany legend Lothar Matthaus has warned Arsenal against signing Wolfsburg star Julian Draxler as he looks set to leave the Bundesliga outfit.
The Germany international has been linked with the Gunners for quite some time now and speculations are rife that Arsenal might make a bid for him after it has become quite clear that he will quit Wolfsburg sooner rather than later.
He was booed last week when he came on as a substitute in the 3-2 defeat to Hertha Berlin. Expressing his disappointment over the fans’ gesture, he had said that he has made up his mind on his future.
He said: “I don’t think I need to tell anybody what (being booed) does to a person, it certainly doesn’t help you. There’s no doubt it makes it hard for you to perform on the field.
“I can understand the fans, though. They have every right to do that. I said in the summer the way I feel and I stand by that.”
However, the World Cup winning captain has advised Arsenal and other big teams to not sign the winger as he has a “weak character” and lacks consistency.
“Let me be clear,” Matthaus told Bild.
“As a big club, I would not take Draxler currently.
“On the one hand, because of his weakness in character, and on the other hand because although he is talented, he has not yet proved he can make the difference at a high level consistently.”
However, with Alexis Sanchez’s future at the Emirates uncertain, it will be interesting to see Arsenal’s approach. The North London outfit is also linked with Borussia Dortmund striker Marco Reus as they are reportedly bracing up to sell the Chile international.
