Balague in his Q and A with the fans as a pundit for Sky Sports has raised speculation over the currently inform Chelsea striker Diego Costa with a comment:

“..Costa would love to go back to Atletico but Simeone wants to see what he can get from Martinez before trying anything else.”

This speculation comes at a time when Costa has been booed onto the pitch by the Chelsea faithful over the past couple of matches as the CHelsea faithful partly blame him for the legendary Mourinho’s departure from Chelsea over the last month. He has had a paltry return of four goals while under Mourinho this season and has almost doubled it up in the matches since.

He had been met with chants of “Where were you when we were sh*t” over these matched but Costa seems to have taken these accusations to heart and has improved considerably over the subsequent matches as he has three goals in the two matches he has played since then.

The fans have predictably gone back to the famous chants of “Diego, Diego, Diegoooo” over the weeks and the speculation had all but died but with a training ground bust up with Oscar being reported by the media, it is unclear whether everything is actually hale and hearty in the Spaniard’s camp.

Keeping the speculation alive was Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo who has not ruled out a potential return for the striker who is idolised in those parts.

“Right now, Diego is a Chelsea player and he has to focus on Chelsea. But you never know what will happen in football, and sometimes players do return to their former clubs.”

The player in reference can be Filipe Luis who had returned to the club after just a single title winning season with Chelsea, admitting that he missed Atletico.
