Arsenal have been unlucky when it comes to injuries. The club has always had several injured players.
Injuries have often affected their gameplay and eventually messed up the results. Recently Alexis Sanchez got injured. Their injury list never seems to stop.
Gunners’ gaffer Wenger is looking for replacements after Coquelin has gone down with an injury. He has faced a knee injury and will probably be out for the next upcoming months. In this time of crisis, Wenger has found a potential replacement for the injured midfielder. Arsene is targeting Ruben Neves of Porto.
Reports say that the club sent scouts and kept close tabs on Ruben.
The scouts travelled to watch Porto midfielder Ruben Neves in action against Pacos. Neves plays for Porto currently and was on loan at Padroense between the years 2012 and 2013Neves broke a Champions League record earlier this season by becoming the youngest player captain by skippering Porto against Maccabi Tel Aviv.
It is believed that this was the third time that the North London club went to keep an eye on the youngster. This shows their interest in him and how firm they are on sealing the deal for him. Neves is a defensive midfielder and the club is ready to shell out £22 million for him. Considering his age, the amount looks really good for him. It looks highly likely that Neves would shift to Emirates in January. No confirmation from both the clubs has been made yet, though. Updates will follow.
Liverpool and Chelsea are also interested in the defensive midfielder and Arsenal will have to beat competition from their rivals if they have to land the youngster.
