Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain is set to leave Napoli and sign a huge contract with Arsenal, according to former Napoli star Jose Alberti. The 27-year old has been heavily linked with a move to Premier League in the recent weeks.
The former Real madrid striker has drawn interest from the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea besides Arsenal. Reports also suggest that Arsenal are keen and Chelsea have already launched a bid of £30million bid, while Manchester United are believed to have agreed terms with the player.
However, Alberti thinks that Higuain is et to become a Gunner next season after Napoli failing to qualify for Champions League this season.
He said, ‘I’m 90% sure he will go to Arsenal. The contract could be a minimum of £3.6million-a-year. It’s not possible that he will remain at Napoli this year after they missed out on the Champions League.’
Arsenal are currently looking for a quality striker up front as they have only Oliver Giroud in their ranks with Lukas Podolski expected to leave Gunners this summer. The Argentine is valued at £42 million by Napoli and Arsenal need to act quick to secure his signing ahead of the competitors.
