Huge boost- Laurent Koscielny and Aaron Ramsey train ahead of PSG clash

Arsenal were handed a major boost as key players Laurent Koscielny and Aaron Ramsey were pictured training with the squad ahead of their Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes on Tuesday.

The Gunners have had their share of injuries coming into the season as they were forced to make the transfer of Shkodran Mustafi after long-term injuries to Gabriel Paulista and Per Mertesacker.

Laurent Koscielny who scored a magnificent overhead kick goal against Southampton on Saturday took a boot to the face during the ending stages of the game and was in a doubt ahead of PSG clash due to a swollen eye. Wenger admitted that Koscielny is a concern after their win against Southampton.

‘He will be a little bit of a concern. The eye is already very swollen and it is closed up,’ Wenger said.

But the 31-year old looks to get back to normal condition and could very well start against PSG as Wenger is not ready to experiment with young Rob Holding in such a high profile game.

The Gunners were handed more good news as Aaron Ramsey is close to his full fitness and could be in the match squad for the PSG game. The Welshman had suffered a hamstring injury in the season opener against Liverpool and was ruled out for the last one month.

The arrival of Ramsey would be a huge boost to Arsenal as they set to clash in both Champions League and League Cup in the coming days and Arsene Wenger would ahve an extra reliable option to shuffle his squad to keep the players fresh in the tight schedule.

Arsenal will hope to not have further injuries to their squad as they had their share already. Central defender Gabriel Paulista is also keen to be back as he is making quick progress and have started training with the team.

Long-term absentees Per Mertesacker and Danny Welbeck are ruled out completely while PSG are also in a serious problem with injuries going into the fixture.

The likes of Thiago Silva, Maxwell, Lucas Moura are all expected to miss the crucial clash as they have not reached full fitness yet to play in the high-profile game. Arsenal would likely be taking their chances against PSG as the two teams have not met often before and PSG are still transitioning under new manager Unai Emery.
