According to reports Chelsea’s Russian owner Roman Abramovich is placing a stunning offer to Real Madrid for Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo to build a squad around the CR7.
AS claimed, Abramovich wants to stop the Blues’ sudden decline this season by bringing back Ronaldo to Premier League triumphing arch rival Manchester United and reportedly preparing a mouth-watering offer for Madrid to quicken the process.
The Russian’s plan will also pip Paris Saint-Germain, who are said to be desperate to sign Ronaldo. Abramovich wants to exploit his good relationship with the Portuguese superstar’s agent, Jorge Mendes.
The Chelsea owner, if reports are true, is ready to go past as much as €100m, and might raise the money by selling Oscar, Eden Hazard and Nemanja Matic in a desperate attempt to turn the table for his struggling club.
However Ronaldo recently has sent mixed messages regarding his future, as his Real Madrid deal expires in 2018 and several times the player has given hints of life outside Bernabeu. He told Marca “Work with Mourinho again? Why not? I’ve got two more years on my contract with Real Madrid, but no-one knows what the future holds.”
Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho who earlier also worked with Ronaldo at Real Madrid, could also be playing an important part in the signing. AS reports past differences between Ronaldo and Mourinho are settled now.
PSG were earlier said to be looking to pair Mourinho and Ronaldo in French League but if this new report has any base then the troubled relationship might be restored at Stamford Bridge instead.
