English Premier League soccer team Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Korean tyre manufacturer Nexen Tire as their official tyre partner.

Nexen Tire is anticipated to accelerate its global expansion and cement its position as the world’s top tire makers through sports marketing activities.

Nexen Tire, a leading global tire and tube manufacturer, has become an Official Partner of Premier League giants Manchester City Football Club, as a part of the company’s sports marketing plan.

On August 6 (local time), Nexen Tire held a signing ceremony for their partnership agreement with Manchester City FC at the City Football Academy in Manchester, England and announced its Official Tire Partnership of Manchester City FC. The ceremony was attended by Ho-Chan Kang, President of Nexen Tire, Ferran Soriano, Manchester City FC CEO, Omar Berrada, City Football Marketing Commercial Director, and other executives from both sides. Manchester City FC players were also in attendance.

As well as having a wide-ranging rights package as part of the agreement, including an LED presence at all of Manchester City’s home games at the Etihad Stadium, Nexen Tire will also assume naming rights of the community bridge linking the Etihad Stadium with the City Football Academy.

Football fans across Europe and around the world will be able to see Nexen Tire’s logo on digital boards whenever Manchester City play at the Etihad Stadium. Moreover, the company plans to execute various marketing activities by utilizing players’ portrait rights and sponsorship management.

Nexen already has a significant market share in both its home east Asian territories and North America, and is now targeting expansion in Europe, with deals such as this seen as key to promoting its brand.
