Tottenham Hotspur are lining up an audacious bid to sign Real Madrid star midfielder Isco, according to the reports.
The 24-year old is one of the highly rated midfielders in Spain but has failed to break into Real Madrid starting line-up under Zinedine Zidane. He is now considered surplus to the club’s requirements as Zidane is keen to play the likes of James Rodriguez, Marco Asensio, Gareth Bale, and Cristiano Ronaldo as they are all capable of playing his role as an attacking central midfielder.
The European champions are keen to reduce the size of their squad and one between Isco and James Rodriguez was expected to be sold. With Zidane expressing his interest in keeping James Rodriguez, Isco becomes the straight forward as he will be the one leaving.
Tottenham who are closely watching the situation of the player are ready to land him on a season-long loan, according to Daily Mirror.
Spurs are planning to land him on a loan deal this summer which will be made permanent at the end of the season. The 24-year old Spanish international’s playing style would fit perfectly into Pochettino’s plans.
The signing would help Spurs who are set to play in Champions League this season as most of their squad members have not played Champions League football so far. Isco could help the team in their Champions League campaign in which they are going to face Bayer Leverkusen, Monaco, and CSKA Moscow over the coming months.
He could also play a similar role to that of Christian Eriksen which could add a new dimension to their attack which they lacked in their 1-1 draw with Liverpool.
