Manchester United look to get back to winning ways this weekend as they prepare to take on an Everton side who have been in an impressive run of their own lately.
After a poor start to the season, Roberto Martinez’s side has now won 4 of their last 5 games and could pose a serious threat for Van Gaal and his players.
Manchester United manager earlier today gave an injury update on his squad which has ruled out Michael Carrick, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo from the game but Daley Blind could feature for United. Robin Van Persie is close to making his return from his long injury layoff as well.
So how exactly, Manchester United will shape up for this important game against Everton? Let’s find out. I believe that Van Gaal will stick with his productive 4-1-4-1 formation, with Wayne Rooney playing on his own and with Ander Herrera playing as the defensive midfield player.
Herrera impressed with his tenacious and intelligent play against Chelsea which could be enough for him to retain his spot in the Michael Carrick role for United. The former Everton man Marouane Fellaini should keep his place in the team in the #10 role alongside Juan Mata and Ashley Young.
The only change I feel Van Gaal will make from the Chelsea game is that, he could give Angel Di Maria a start rather than bringing him off the bench.
