Louis Van Gaal and Manchester United will have nothing but a victory in their sights as they prepare to host Sunderland in Barclays Premier League and kick start their quest to finish in Top 4 of the league.

Manager Van Gaal has outlined the need for his side to win against Sunderland if they have any chance of finishing in top 4 this season. Van Gaal will be without his leading goal scorer this season, Robin Van Persie.

Van Persie suffered a knock to his ankle in defeat to Swansea and is expected to be out for at least 2-3 weeks. Young striker James Wilson is also suffering from a dead leg which means a chance for Radamel Falcao to start up front alongside Wayne Rooney.

Van Gaal must not drop Rooney back to mid field after the red devils suffered the defeat in Wales. Rooney’s movements were as good as any striker has managed this season for United.

In midfield we might see the return of Juan Mata who has failed to start in last 3 games for United, mainly those being the away games. Juan Mata and Ander Herrera have a dynamic combination in United’s midfield and their presence makes the United midfield look more lively than usual.Mata will replace Marouane Fellaini, who has been the vocal point of United’s attacks recently.

Defensively Manager might give Rafael the chance to start ahead of Paddy MacNair at right back, who was less than convincing against Swansea. Rest of the back 4 will remain same with Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and Luke Shaw in defense while David De Gea to start in goal.

Manchester United will look to get back to winning ways and pile on the pressure on likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Totenham and Southampton for the race of finishing in top 4 this season.

Here is United’s strongest 11 to face Sunderland this weekend
