The Indian football team is all set to take on the Nepal football team on August 31st in a friendly game. The All Nepal Football Association has confirmed the news and mentioned that the All India Football Federation had requested them for the above-mentioned game. Nepal will participate in this year’s SAFF Championship scheduled in December 2015. India are supposed to host the tournament. The Nepalese national side will take this opportunity to prepare for the tournament.

India, on the other hand, are currently playing the FIFA World Cup qualifiers for 2018. They have lost their opening two matches against Oman and Guam this month. Their next match is against Asian giants Iran. They will treat the friendly game as a preparation for their all important game.

The last time these two sides met was in March in the FIFA World pre-qualifiers where India outclassed their neighbours 2-0 on aggregate to qualify for the main stages. Though the date is finalised the venue is yet to be decided.
