1) A number of players have already been official for the Indian Super League. They are; the former Manchester United and Trinidad and Tobago forward Dwight Yorke, Fredrik Ljungberg who is a Swedish winger famous for his time at Arsenal, Robert Pirès who also played for Arsenal and was a French international midfielder, former Manchester United and Everton forward Louis Saha who was a French international striker and Hernan Crespo, the Argentine international legend who played for clubs like AC Milan, Inter Milan and Chelsea.

2) Three managerial figures have also been official. Peter Schmeichel, the former Danish international goal keeper who is famous for his time at Manchester United, Marcel Desailly, the former French international defender who is famous for his times at AC Milan and Chelsea, and of course, the Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish, the former Scottish international forward is considered as one of the best players in the history of Liverpool football club.

3) Peter Schmeichel had been a great footballer but never managed a football team before. So a question remains could he be as successful as a manager just like a footballer he was?

4) The former French International defender Marcel Desailly has not managed any football team yet. He took retirement from football in the year of 2006. He last played for the Saudi Arabian side Qatar FC.

5) Only Kenny Dalglish had a good managerial experience after his playing career. He remained the player manager of Liverpool for five years (1985 – 1991). During his player managerial period in Liverpool, he won three league titles (1985 – 1986, 1987 – 1988 and 1989 – 1990), two FA cups (1985 – 1986 and 1988 – 1989), one super cup (1985 – 1986) and four FA charity Shields (1986, 1988, 1989 and 1990). Dalglish went to the second division side Blackburn Rovers in 1991 and helped them with the first division promotion on the same season. In 1993 – 1994 season he won the English Premier League trophy with Blackburn Rovers. In 2011, Liverpool brought him back as the manager after they sacked Roy Hodgson. In 2011 – 2012, he managed Liverpool to win the League Cup. So there is no doubt that Kenny Dalglish is the biggest name that has been signed as one of the managers of Indian Super League.

6) There are some rumored names who could be offered to play in this competition. Manchester united and Real Madrid’s English legend David Beckham, Real Madrid and French legend Zinedine Zidane, Brazilian icon Ronaldinho and English legend Michael Owen who played for teams like Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle United and Manchester United are among the rumored names.

7) Undoubtedly, this tournament can give Indian football a solid boost which it actually requires. With all these international stars and huge interests from the fans, this tournament has all the potentials to become as successful as IPL cricket.
