According to French Football, Inter Milan are close to signing Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko after agreeing on personal terms with the talented midfielder.

The French international has expressed his desire to leave Newcastle United this summer as he publicly admitted his desire as the club got relegated from Premier League.

The midfielder has been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid but the likes of Everton, Crystal Palace beside Inter Milan have all expressed their interest in signing the talented midfielder.

The Italian giants have expressed their interest in signing Sissoko as an alternative to Portuguese international Joao Mario.

Sporting Lisbon are demanding a massive €45 million for Mario which made Inter Milan step up interest in Sissoko. Newcastle are looking for €40million for one of the most sought out midfielders this summer.

Sissoko is training on his own at Newcastle and had earlier expressed his interest in leaving Newcastle, saying “I spent three and a half years here. I gave everything for this club and I want to play some big games. For that, I need to go somewhere else. I want to play in the Premier League, I want to play for a big club who can get into the Champions League.”

“That’s why I said I want to leave this year. I’ve spent a lot of time here and now it’s time to look forward. The fans need to understand my situation, I hope they will and that everything will be OK.”

The 27-year old can play both in the middle as well as in wide positions and is keen to join a club that offers him Champions League football. Meanwhile, Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez is under no pressure to sell the midfielder but remains keen on selling him sooner as he could bring in potential replacements before the end of transfer window.
