According the latest reports from Gazzetta Delo Sports, Inter Milan have reached an agreement to sign Xherdan Shaqiri from Bayern Munich.
Xherdan Shaqiri has been the subject to a transfer battle between Inter Milan and Liverpool and now it seems after weeks of negotiation Inter Milan are in the pole position to sign the crafty winger from Bayern Munich.
Shaqiri was sure to leave Allianz Arena in January after being deprived of first team action under Pep Guardiola. Many clubs around Europe including Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Inter Milan have been linked with a move for Shaqiri in the past.
Inter Milan’s owner Erick Thohir will be in Germany today to discuss the final talks with Bayern Munich over the proposed move for Shaqiri. As per the reports, Liverpool had submitted an offer which would pay Shaqiri close to €3 Million in wages and had a €15 Million buy-out option to Munich. In comparison to Liverpool, Inter Milan offer stood at €2.5 Million in wages for Shaqiri and a €12 Million buy-out option to Bayern Munich.
Despite being behind in terms of financial offerings, Inter Milan have won the race to sign Xerdan Shaqiri purely on the basis of guaranteed first team action. Shaqiri has a doubt over a regular first team action at Anfield due to the presence of Raheem Sterling, Adam Lallana, Philippe Coutinho and Lazar Markovic in front of him.
Under their returning manager Roberto Mancini, Inter Milan are on the rise again. Roberto Mancini has been a long term admirer of Shaqiri’s caliber and is the driving force behind Inter Milan signing the Swiss winger on a €2.5 Million-a-year wages and with a €12 Million buy-out option at the end of his loan spell. As things stand Inter Milan are clear favorites to sign Xherdan Shaqiri from Bayern Munich.
