According to reports in Italy, Inter Milan are keen to sign Liverpool’s long-serving midfielder Lucas Leiva as a potential replacement for Marcelo Brozovic who is close to signing for Juventus.
Brozovic who is also a target for the Reds would be signing for Juventus in the upcoming 48 hours as the Old Lady are set to make a £21million bid, according to Corriere Dello Sport.
Inter Milan are already on the verge of signing Joao Mario from Sporting Lisbon who is a key target for both Liverpool and Chelsea. Mario is set to undergo a medical today as he is set to sign a loan deal with an option to buy next summer.
The 29-year old Brazilian midfielder, Leiva still has one year left on his contract which is set to expire in June 2017 and have played no part in the Reds’ pre-season campaign.
The Brazilian is currently surplus to their requirements with the arrivals of Georginio Wijnaldum and Marko Grujic. The Liverpool defensive midfield also has the likes of Jordon Henderson, James Milner and Emre Can which gives little room for the Brazilian.
Inter Milan have reportedly set Leiva as their top transfer target in their wish-list and the veteran midfielder is said to be keen on a move to Serie A. The Brazilian was previously linked with Galatasaray.
