Iran Drop In New FIFA Rankings

Tehran, Nov 25 (IANS) Iran’s national soccer team has dropped three places in the latest FIFA rankings.

Xinhua quoted local media as reporting that Iran are now placed at the 30th position after last week’ s goalless draw against Syria in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

Despite the decline in the latest ratings released on Thursday, Iran are still the top team in Asia, followed by South Korea, Japan and Australia.

According to world footbal’s governing body FIFA, Argentina remain at the top of the FIFA rankings with Brazil replacing reigning world champion Germany in second place.
