The ISL starts off the second round of matches with a clash between two teams that won their opening fixtures. NorthEast United FC overcame the Kerela Blasters thanks to a solitary goal from Koke while Atletico de Kolkata beat Mumbai City FC 3-0 at the Salt Lake Stadium.

Atletico will be playing away at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, which will be backing the home team NorthEast United FC. The Kolkata based outfit looked impressive against Mumbai City and will be hoping to continue their stay at the top of the relatively new league table and on the other hand, NorthEast will be looking to pull one over their more illustrious rivals, especially with a huge crowd behind them.

NorthEast United FC: NorthEast would be going into the game with a bit of a doubt regarding their forward, Boro. He was substituted by Milan Singh in the last game and could miss out. NorthEast would be playing a 4-3-3 formation. The foreign attacking pair of Keene and Koke would support the striker. Indian star Ralte would be playing in the midfield with Felipe playing the holding midfielder’s role. Another player who did really well for the team was their custodian Tzorvas, the Greek giant would be looking to keep back to back clean sheets.

Atletico de Kolkata Arguably the best performance from the first round of games, Atletico de Kolkata trounced Mumbai FC; although they had a slow start they ultimately showed their class. The Spanish contingent of Borja Fernandez, Luis Garcia and Josemi were magnificent, it seemed like they had been playing together for years. Fikru, the first goal scorer of the ISL, looks a beast in attack. The Kolkata goalkeeper Roy Chowdhury was excellent behind the sticks, coming up with a couple of great reflex saves.

Impact players

NorthEast United FC:

Koke: The Spanish forward scored with a sweet volley in the first game to help his side to victory and seemed to be able to provide that extra oomph when the team needed it the most.

Ralte: The midfielder was another bright spark for the team, attacking from the left side of midfield, his crosses and runs into the box could pose a threat for the Kolkata team.

Atletico de Kolkata:

Luis Garcia: Luis Garcia was all flicks and tricks in the first game. It seemed like this was the Luis Garcia of Liverpool and was playing in front of the Kop an Anfield. NorthEast will have to work hard to keep the little maestro quiet.

Borja Fernandez: Another from the Spanish contingent, Borja was a rock in midfield against Mumbai FC and will be looking to provide support to the forwards; his goal against Mumbai was absolutely spectacular.

NorthEast United FC will be having their work cut out for them trying to keep the Kolkata team at bay. Atletico de Kolkata looked very impressive in their first game and they should come out from this game with all 3 points.
