The 31-year-old Argentine international had been out on loan at Norwich for the second half of last season and had played his last game in April. He has undergone an operation in the South American nation to remove his left testicle and has been since undergoing chemotherapy for the past month.
He tweeted on Tuesday, “Thanks for all the messages. Always looking forward.”
“I detected a tumour in a testicle. When I confirmed the cancer, I went home crying,” the winger told TyC Sports.
“I felt very tough pain on my testicle. After some wrong diagnosis, an ultrasound detected the tumour. I decided to reveal all this because this is a difficult moment but there is nothing wrong with this. These things may help other people.”
