Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has finally hinted to end the fight with long time rival Arsene Wenger as the Portuguese manager is ready to shake hands with the Frenchman.
Last month when the two sides clashed in the FA Community Shield Arsene Wenger emerged victorious against his counterpart for the first time in his career. After the game Jose Mourinho congratulated each and every Arsenal but ignored Arsene Wenger. The mutually chose not to face each other.
Speaking ahead of the match, The Blues boss said: “I am happy you describe what happened in the correct way. That’s what I did. I respond for my action and others respond for their action.”
Wenger though, refused to comment on the topic and completely ignored the question. The Frenchman said: “I don’t want to talk about that. I have nothing more to say about this situation.”
The rivalry between the two managers tracks back to Mourinho’s first tenure in charge of Chelsea. Both the managers have taken digs at each other several times.
The rivalry even took a fierce shape last season when Arsene Wenger had physically hurt Jose Mourinho on the pitch. He had pulled the manager by his tie and pushed him also.
It will be interesting to see if Jose Mourinho actually initiates a process of peacemaking with fierce rival Arsene Wenger and whether the French manager will respond to the nice gesture of the Portuguese manager.
