Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is keen to add Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos or AS Monaco’s Fabinho to their midfield for the upcoming season, according to reports.
The Red Devils are one of the best teams in England as they have been consistently impressive throughout the season and have fought impressively well in all the four competitions and one of the major players for the club this season is Paul Pogba.
The Frenchman has been the engine in the central midfield as he linked up the play well between defense and attack and have looked very good in his return season at Old Trafford. However, Jose Mourinho is keen to get the best out of the midfielder and is ready to spend big in the summer window to bring in another top class central midfielder.
Paul Pogba has excelled well when played alongside Michael Carrick as the latter’s experience to keep hold of his position has helped Pogba to play more freely as he was able to link up with attack and help out defense when needed.
However, Michael Carrick’s contract is set to expire in the summer and has hinted that he could leave the club. Jose Mourinho will now have to look at a potential replacement for Carrick and believes one of Toni Kroos or Fabinho would be an ideal fit for Manchester United next season.
Kroos has developed into one of the world’s best midfielders under Zinedine Zidane and it would take a record fee to lure him to Old Trafford next summer. Fabinho, on the other hand, has been extraordinary for Monaco this season as the French club are defying expectations with the most exciting squad in entire Europe.
It is also believed that Tiemoue Bakayoko and Cesc Fabregas are few other options that are available for Jose Mourinho this summer but the Portuguese tactician believes signing Kroos or Fabinho could help the club reach former glory.
Manchester United have also lost experienced campaigner Bastain Schweinsteiger to Chicago Fire which leaves Jose Mourinho with only Ander Herrera apart from Pogba in defensive midfield next season.
