Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has promissed to aplogize to Tony Pulis after he snubbed a handshake with the West Brom manager. The incident had occured after Liverpool’s 96th minute equalizing goal, which saw the game end at 2-2.
Klopp was irritated by West Brom’s long-ball tactics and ended up calling Pulis style of play as disappointing. However, speaking in his pre-match conference earlier today, Klopp confirmed that he would easily say sorry to the West Brom manager as he really forgot to shake hands with him.
Klopp said: Everything changed after the last game. I can easily say sorry for everything I said after the last game because I am emotional and Tony Pulis is similar.
“It was not for me a bigger problem. I really forgot to shake hands, that’s all. If we meet today it’s no problem to say sorry and talk about what happened.
“I have big respect for his work, but it’s not easy to switch on the lamps and switch them off. I wanted to go to my side, what can I say.
“We are all emotional and still best friends in the league, we talked before the game, we asked about our families.
“Sometimes you do things you would no do in real life, but it’s not that serious. You can not make your best decisions if you are at an extreme emotional level.
“I have no problem for saying sorry, but nobody asked me. Ok after the game maybe, but it was not time to think about this, because it was not a game that five minutes after you come back to normal.”
Liverpool travel to the highly spirited Watford side next where The Reds will look to get their season underway after two disappointing results. Klopp saw his side lose 2-0 against Newcastle then a 2-2 draw against West Brom does not show the exact picture of impact Klopp had when he first arrived at Liverpool. A win will be needed this weekend to continue Liverpool’s hopes of breaking in to the top 4 this season.
