German midfield maestro, Ilkay Gundogan has become a top target of all big clubs. From being linked with Merseyside team Liverpool to English giants Manchester United, Gundogan seems to be on the shopping list of several clubs. Gundogan was heavily linked with Manchester United and a deal was almost done, claimed the reports formerly. However, those were rumours as the club failed to land the player at Old Trafford. As for Liverpool, Gundogan was linked because of the German connection due to Klopp’s presence at the club. Gundogan has formerly played under Klopp and the two get along very well. The move seemed possible as Klopp can easily attract the midfielder to his new club, Liverpool.

However, now there is a new addition in the race to sign Ilkay as Juventus have gotten in, too. Tuttosport report that Juventus wants to smash the two English clubs by putting up a bid higher than theirs and crush their hopes of sealing the deal for the 25-year-old player. Juventus is currently keeping close tabs on Borussia Dortmund player and the club looks a step ahead of the English rivals, in offering a deal for the Gelsenkirchen-born player.

Dortmund is demanding around €25million for Gundogan as he played a key role for the Germans this season.

The race for signing the German has become intense as with time more and more clubs are showing their interest in the midfielder. As of now, no bids have been put forth but it looks as if Juventus will eventually win the race in buying the BVB star.
