Manchester United finally managed to get their hands on their lost hero Paul Pogba in a word record transfer earlier this week.
This move has left the Italian giants, Juventus, Pogba’s former employees with a glaring hole in the midfield that they will have to plug this summer.
The funds that Juventus got from the sale of the Frenchman will make it easy for them to get their top transfer targets but the lack of genuine quality in the transfer market is what will hinder their search.
The Italian champions were linked with a move for PSG’s Blaise Matuidi and Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic for a move this summer but with neither club ready to let go of their players, Juventus are still in the market for a top class midfielder.
The 26-year old Spanish national moved to Untied a couple of seasons ago and has ever since not been able to cement a place in the starting XI at the club.
However, he has been impressive in the few outings he got late last season and has grown as a fan favourite in the mean time making him move away from the club a bit hard.
However, Jose Mourinho has reportedly been told to sell players from the squad to add new ones and it is revealed that the manager is looking to offload players who are wanted by big teams around Europe.
The club already has the likes of Morgan Schneiderlin and Michael Carrick in the squad alongside Paul Pogba and it will be interesting to see if Mourinho is happy for Herrera to leave but Juventus will have to play a heavy fee to get their man this summer.
The Spaniard will be a good fit for the Italian outfit and though he may not be the best replacement for Paul Pogba at Turin, he is definitely a player who will add some mettle in the midfield for Allegri’s side.
Do you think Mourinho will sell Herrera to Juve this summer?
