Key Player In Liverpool’s Istanbul Team Retires And Becomes DJ

Former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse has started a second career in his life as he became a professional DJ after retiring from the game in 2015.
The French forward was a hit Anfield after moving to Premier League in the summer of 2004 from Ligue 1 outfit Auxerre.
He played a crucial part in the Liverpool’s Champions League campaign as he is known for his penalty conversion in the iconic game at Istanbul in the summer of 2005.
After moving to Anfield in 2004, the Frenchman had a devastating injury which saw his chances limited as he scored only five goals for the Reds in the entire campaign.
However, a healthy Cisse has scored an impressive 19 goals across all competitions for Liverpool in his second season as he was used as a winger as well as a striker by then manager Rafa Benitez.
He was soon loaned out to French club Marseille in the summer of 2006 and he later moved to the club on a permanent deal in 2007.
He has played for nearly nine clubs after moving away from Liverpool which includes Premier League clubs Sunderland and QPR.
Speaking of retirement from the game and starting a new career in his life, Cisse said: “I loved being a footballer, and so far the ball has been my life. I would have liked to continue playing but I must admit today that football is over.
“With the same passion, I will devote myself wholeheartedly to my career as DJ, producer and consultant, as well as develop my clothes brand. Thanks to all of you for your support.
“The adventure continues, another life begins. A lion never dies.”

Cisse has scored a decent 24 goals from 82 appearances for the Reds in the two seasons he played at Anfield and was fondly remembered for his role in the iconic night at Istanbul.
