Jurgen Klopp has announced himself in grand fashion with great results against big teams. Many expected the German to change the Liverpool side in an year or two but if the last few matches are anything to go by, Klopp’s game has already rubbed off on several players. The most surprising thing about this revival has been the lack of an opportunity to change his squad.
Klopp has had to deal with the remaining of his previous manager and also with a number of injuries. Though the team is showing signs of progress, the manager will surely relish the opportunity that the January transfer window gives the teams.
The charismatic manager had a great rapport with his brigade at his previous club BVB Dortmund. The German club and the fans have a special place for the manager and this is something that has given rise to a number of rumors linking the England club with players from Dortmund. Klopp has already stated that he is free to sign any one he wants from his ex-club and is reportedly very keen on his star player Marco Reus.
For Dortmund, Reus has been a fan favorite and has publicly announced that he will not join Bayern Munchen, their rival. This was in the midst of a number of players preferring the move to Bavaria. He was also one of the most exciting players in the whole of Europe for a period and is technically gifted. He can walk into any side and make it better instantly.
He has been exceptional under Klopp’s system at Dortmund and provides another dimension to the Liverpool side. He is already used to playing in the system and has the potential to lift the club back to being one of the top teams in Europe. So there is no surprise that Jurgen Klopp is desperate to re-unite with Marco Reus.
Reus, a genuine match winner was on the Merseyside wish list from a long time alongside European giants such as Real Madrid. Though Reus might prefer the Spanish outfit which is hard to turn down, the managers relationship with the player might help Liverpool to snatch up an eye catching transfer.
This will not come as a surprise to many fans and though the attacking mid-fielder may not make a move this January, it will be hard for BVB Dortmund to keep him over the course of the summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, Klopp is also looking raid his previous club for centre-back Neven Subotic. Subotic has reportedly fallen down the pecking order and is unsettled at the club. Klopp is a huge admirer of Subotic who might also make a move sooner rather than later.
Jurgen Klopp has not taken too long nor any changes to his current squad to change them from mediocre to remarkable. He will not be eyeing too many changes in the next months window but will surely plan ahead and will try and look to be in the race for the title in the next season.
