Manchester City today announced that Pep Guardiola will replace Manuel Pellegrini as the manager of the club after the end of the season.
The Spanish genius has won almost everything as a player and as a manager and now has his eye set on English silverware.
Former Borussia Dortmund boss Klopp went toe-to-toe with Guardiola in Germany with each coming out on top four times in their eight meetings.
And next season, the rivalry will move to the Anfield and the Etihad as the Premier League will get ready for some enthralling contests.
Jurgen Klopp has his words of advice for the Spaniard and felt that he will try to win everything at the Etihad.
Klopp said, “At Bayern he has enough work to do but when he is here it will be a very warm welcome like I had when I came here.
“He is one of the best managers in the world, no doubt about this.”
Guardiola had a great start to his managerial career at Barcelona where he took the club to new heights. He then moved on to Germany to take over Bayern Munchen and made them one of the best clubs in the world.
“He had two big, big clubs where he has worked at and now he will do his job at Manchester City.”
“Pep won everything in Spain, nearly everything in Germany so I think he wants to win everything in England that is clear.”
Klopp won the Bundesliga even as Guardiola was the manager at Bayern and also took Dortmund to the all Germany Champions League couple of years ago
“I know him but not good enough to know something about his real targets or reasons for coming here.”
Klopp was asked about the biggest challenge for Pep in England and he was quick to reply ‘the wind’. Klopp in the past felt that the weather conditions in England take some getting used to and felt the Guardiola will face the same problem at the start of his adventure in England.
City and Liverpool face each other before Guardiola is in England at Wembley for the League Cup final on the last day of this month.
