Liverpool at the start of the season had 4 strikers in their armory but injuries to Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi and Danny Ings has left Jurgen Klopp with just one fit striker in Christian Benteke.

The recent results show that Liverpool are badly in need of a striker and it comes as no surprise as a host of big name players are linked with a move to Anfield.

According to reports in Italy, Liverpool are interested in forward Christian Tello who is out on loan at FC Porto at the moment.

The 24-year old is on the verge of moving to Fiorentia on a loan deal with an option to purchase him at the end of the season but it is understood that the Merseyside franchise are interested in bringing him to England.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Barcelona and Fiorentina were close to agreeing a deal for the star player but Liverpool stepped in stop the transfer from happening. Liverpool are long time admirers of the Barcelona forward and want him to change things around at Anfield.

Christian Tello’s agent however, has confirmed interest from the Italian club. Jose Maria Orotbig said,” Porto, Fiorentina and Barcelona are negotiating the player’s transfer. I think that he will sign with Fiorentina before the weekend,” José Maria Orotbig told Fiorentinanews.com

“Cristian wants to join Fiorentina because it would be a chance to join another great team. He comes from Barcelona, and though we respect Porto, we believe that Fiorentina would be a big step forward in his career.”

Christian Tello has made more than 20 appearances for Porto scoring just two goals and might not be the right person to solve the problems at Liverpool at the moment.

Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio also confirmed that Tello is close to moving to Fiorentina on a loan deal with an €8 million price tag.

Liverpool are outsiders to sign the Barcelona forward and need some impact players if they are to revive their season and play in Europe in the next season.
