The draft of Real Madrid’s 2016/17 home kit was leaked some days ago on Twitter. In a quest to celebrate the club’s rich history and strong roots, the Real Madrid 16-17 home kit boasts a very traditional design in white and purple, the most iconic alternative color of Los Merengues. As seen on FootyHeadlines, the jersey is made of the pure white shade.
The club sponsors Adidas have beautifully designed the new home kit. The kit has a quite traditional and classy touch to it. It resembles the pattern of the very first shirts which were worn by the Real Madrid players in the early 1900s. A white base (officially Crystal White) is combined with subdued accents in purple (Ray Purple) and blue, while the Emirates sponsor logo on the front of the new Real Madrid home shirt is black.
The jersey has a polo collar neck. The outer back of the collar reads the club name and also shows a purple color block. The jersey will be combined with a pair of shorts and sock of the similar style. The new Adidas Real Madrid home shirt stands in stark contrast to the last few Real Madrid home kits which featured bold new accent colors for the most part.
The last time a RMA jersey possessed the colour purple was way back in the 2007-08 season. This isn’t the final design of the jersey and the draft could undergo changes with time until it has been finalized. The draft looks decent to us and we give a thumbs up for the traditional, classy look.
