Indian Super League has seen a lot of big names in the first edition of the high-profile football tournament and the second edition will be even more special as a number of high profile players like Risse, Roberto Carlos, Helder Postiga, Adrian Mutu will be featuring. 

For the promotion of the League Pele will be coming to Kolkata next month and Wayne Rooney is also reported to come and now another superstar is on the way as Fernando Torres is coming to India for promotion of Atletico de Kolkata according to reports.

The former Liverpool and Chelsea forward has a huge fan following around the world and India is not an exception. Atletico de Kolkata, the reigning champions of ISL, is a franchise of Torres’ current club Atletico de Madrid and for the promotion of the team, the World Cup winner is reported to come to Kolkata for the first home game of the season.

An Atletico de Kolkata official, who is not willing to name himself, said to ABP, a recognised Indian media, ”There are high chances that Torres could attend Kolkata’s first home game to draw in the crowds and also be a part of the franchise’s promotions. Considering the football craze in Kolkata, Torres is sure to be a hit with the crowd. Club owners are currently working out the dynamics of how to bring him here as per his availability.” 

The ISL champions will be playing last season’s runner-up Kerala Blasters on 13th October at Salt Lake Stadium and the addition of Torres will enhance the glamour and fan following of the tournament hugely.

Known as El Nino, the World Cup and Euro Cup winner has won almost all trophies during his career with Spain and different clubs ad has a huge fan following and will be a huge profile for ISL which is gaining popularity day by day.
