Underdogs Leicester City have yet again proven why the English team should fear their squad after the Foxes put up a tough fight against Everton. Defeating them 3-2 the Foxes are now the league leaders, way ahead of former title winners, Chelsea. In the post match presentation, Leicester City gaffer Claudio Ranieri expressed his happiness over the crucial result but sunbbed off any title talks. The manager was satisfied with the outcome and said that Premier league glory is far from reach as of now.
‘’It was a tough match. Everton are a very good team because there are a lot of players with good skill – they move the ball very fast – but we played a fantastic match defensively,” the Italian boss said.
“Well done to all my players, I have a good team. They’re very friendly to each other, and they work very hard.
“It’s nice to have 38 points. I’ve already spoken to my players (and have told them to) clear their mind and go forward. I’d like to speak to my players to see what they believe, and think they can achieve.
‘’I’m very happy, very glad. They are very compact, they concentrate tactically. I’ve managed big teams but this is a young team who, last season, were very close to relegation,” he added.
“Now, they’re trying to test themselves at the higher level. But it’s important to maintain the right balance.’’ I am very, very honest. If we stay there at the end of April, I will think about the title. Now I just enjoy it,” he said.
“That is football. Football is crazy. If it is crazy in this way, I am very happy.”
