Here is a quick update from what the Telegraph says: The bet of the night might be 14/5 on a red card. There is surely significant potential for what is described in some cultures as “nawtiness”.

I am not predicting this tight affair but this is what I feel: This has to be an anti tiki taka final tactically, Atleti wont allow space to Real at all like the way they broke in counters against Bayern, both sides will be happier without the ball

Here is the latest from Abhijit tactically: It will be much more than the oft-quoted ‘best attack v best defense’ game. Atletico will employ their customary high pressing, while Real would look to draw Atleti players close before starting their customary counters. Set pieces could be key, and look to be the possible goalscoring avenues. Khedira is a gamble, so is Costa. Both teams’ full backs will be heavily involved in attacks.

Our guest analyst from OutsideoftheBoot Vishal Patel thinks real will win this comfortably by a 3-1 margin.

Sami too feels the same: Personally would love to see Simeone‘s men triumph. Their tactics have certainly been perfectly suited for the Champions League, but given Ancelotti’s experience and the fact they finally have a shot at La Decima, can’t see past Real Madrid. Real to win it comfortably.

If you are bored and waiting for the kick off read this immaculate piece from Abhijit to sway off the countdown.

It’s time

Cat and mouse affair till now, 0-0 till 4 mins

Costa taken off to be replaced by Adrian Lopez. As Gary Neville points out, You can recover from a hamstring in just seven days.

Atletico have been brutal, compact and direct , not allowing Ronaldo and Bale to turn, brilliant from the Rojiblancos.

Gabi is penalised for fouling Di Maria down the wings.

Koke now gives away a foul away pulling down Carvajal

What a chance for Blae, and what a miss. Will Real regret that?

It heating up there in Lisbon

Goal!!!! Atletico score, Diego Godin with another header.  A bad mistake from Iker Casillas who needlessly comes out of his line as Aleti take advantage. Modric and Ramos also to blame but Cssilas had a shocker.

No team has hit two goals past Atletico Madrid this season in the Champions League. Falling apart from Real now!

As Telegraph points out: Real are getting increasingly frustrated with the number of play-breaking fouls committed by Atletico.

Half Time: Atletico 1-0 Real

Follow the Twitter Reactions from the first half here

Sub: Coentrao off: Marcelo on, an attacking change? Isco also comes in for the ineffective Khedira

Atletico make their second substitution Jose Sosa replacing Raul Garcia.

Real enjoying their phase of the game

Bale another chance, cant get his shot off the boot early

Change for Real: Morata replaces the ineffective Benzema

5 minutes remaining!

Goal! Drama! What a header from Sergio Ramos! 1-1 with just 2 minutes. remaining. Harsh on Atletico but what a corner taken by Modric but full credit to Ramos.

And we are going into extra match. What a final!

Two goals in teh semi finals second leg and one now to the rescue in the final.

Real now with all the momentum, can Atletico defy all the odds?

Carlo Ancelotti looks like the coolest man on Earth

Neither teams creating anything in the first half of extra time. Real have won a corner but Coutois collects the second ball easily. Diego Simeone runs into the pitch complaining to the referee about the time added.

Half Time in Extra Time!

Could we go to penalties?

Goal!! Gareth Bale of all people it is. Persistence pays off, Courtois does brilliantly to deny Di Maria but Bale heads into an open net.

So hard on Atletico this!

Real are four minutes away from the Decima!

Goal!!!! 3-1 to Real Madrid and a historic finish this. Marcelo with a thumping strike but Courtois should have saved it. Atletico players have nothing left. Sometimes football is harsh.

Godin trips Ronaldo who scores from the spot. 4-1 to Real, the scoreline is harsh on Atletico. Doesn’t tell the whole story
