Liverpool and Manchester United have announced their squads that will be travelling to USA for pre-season.

Liverpool have named a 33-man squad for the pre-season tour to Boston, Chicago, New York, Charlotte and Miami. Liverpool will play against Preston on Saturday before departing for the United States on July 20.

 

Steven Gerrard will lead the squad in the United States. New signings Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Emre Can and Lazar Markovic have been named in the 33-man squad. Liverpool will play the first match of the tour against AS Roma at Boston’s Fenway Park. Liverpool will also take part in the International Champions Cup, taking on Olympiacos on Sunday July 27 in Chicago, Manchester City on Wednesday July 30 in New York and AC Milan on Saturday August 2 in Charlotte.

Manchester United new boss Louis Van Gaal has named a 25-man squad. Michael Carrick has been left out due to his ankle surgery this week. New signings Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera are also a part of the squad travelling to the United States.

United will play four matches during the tour. They play the first match against LA Galaxy in the Chevrolet Cup on 23 July. After that they’ll join Liverpool in the International Champions Cup with matches against AS Roma in Denver (26 July), Inter Milan in Washington DC (29 July) and Real Madrid in Ann Arbor (2 August).
