According to reports in The Metro, Liverpool are the frontrunners to sign Dinamo Zagreb’s attacking midfielder Ante Coric.
The highly-rated player was all set to join Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Manchester City this summer but rejected a £15 million move after learning Pep Guardiola was looking to send him on a season-long loan.
According to the daily, Reds boss, Jurgen Klopp kept track of the youngster all summer before Manchester City’s bid was accepted by Dinamo Zagreb. Tottenham Hotspur and Everton were the other English teams to show their interest in the 19-year old midfielder.
Coric’s decision to call off the transfer has reportedly infuriated Dinamo, who were keen to make some good fortune. The move is all set to make Liverpool and Spurs revive their interest in Coric.
Meanwhile, Klopp looks keen to bolster his squad before the transfer deadline. Liverpool recently made a bid of £11 million for Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Christian Pulisic.
