According to reports in Italy, Liverpool and Manchester City are interested in signing AS Roma midfielder Leandro Paredes.
The Argentine is expected to leave Roma this summer amid uncertainty around his future at the club as he was sent on loan last season to Empoli.
German club Schalke was tipped to be favorites to sign him earlier but the 22-year old is reportedly not interested in a switch to Germany.
Juventus and French giants Monaco are also interested in the playmaker as the race to sign him is a four-way battle.
Both the English clubs are keen to sign the talented midfielder as they tried to lure him to England but reports suggest that the player could remain in Italy and Empoli have already reportedly enquired about his availability for a second successive loan.
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, both Juventus and Monaco are weighing their offers as Roma are not going to let their player go for anything less than £16 million.
The 22-year old has made 28 appearances for Empoli and have impressed a host of clubs with his performances over the past year. The player is an attacking midfielder which has not helped his cause at Roma and was sent on loan to Empoli where he excelled as a deep lying play-maker.
