The last international break of the year is almost upon us as the teams from the Premier League get some much required respite from the busy schedule early this season.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have taken full advantage of their absence in Europe and have stitched a 11-game unbeaten streak to stay at the top of the table level on points with Manchester City and Arsenal after 10 games.
They go into the last weekend before the break with a home game against Watford and it will be a game Liverpool will be expected to win. They have also been a busy side in the market, scouting for some impressive players in Europe.

Klopp gives Ings message of support:
The 24-year old missed most of the last season through an ACL injury and was just looking close to his previous best before he picked up a knee injury that needs s surgery. It will keep him out of the game for atleast 7 months spoiling yet another season in the top flight for the striker.
However, he was given some support from his manager who revealed that he and the club are happy to wait for him. We will wait for him, give him all the time he needs. He will be back again and will be a Liverpool player, 100 per cent. That’s all we’re working on,” Klopp said in a recent interview. (Echo)
FC Porto star eyed:
Liverpool have been monitoring players from around Europe to improve on their squad since the start of the season and have been linked to a number of inform players recently.
They are now ready to battle it out for FC Porto striker Moussa Marega. The 25-year old has been in impressive form this season and has attracted interests from around Europe. Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in his services. (Sun)
Lovren out of Croatia squad:
The former Southampton defender was not a part of the national team that had a decent run in the EUROs recently.
He was absent from the Croatia squad that was announced recently for the qualifier against Iceland. Lovren is absent from the squad upon his own request but will be available for Liverpool. (Goal)
Injury update:
After an early injury scare for the Liverpool squad, Klopp, has managed to keep his first team players fit and will go into this game with a full strength squad.
Mamadou Sakho, Sheyi Ojo and Joe Gomez will not be a part of the game while Danny Ings remains the only other injury concern for this game. James Milner is back in action and should be starting this game for the Reds.
Though Emre Can and Georginio were suffering from illness, Klopp expects the duo to be back in action this weekend. (Echo)

Klopp takes dig at United:
The Reds have time and again been tipped off as genuine title contenders with the lack of European football being one of the biggest reasons.
But when asked about the same in the press conference ahead of the Watford game, Klopp took the chance to take a dig at the bitter rivals and wanted the report to ask Mourinho the same question.
When asked if lack of European football is helping, Klopp said, “Maybe Manchester United will have it from January. Maybe ask them. Perhaps it’s not a positive thing and then from January, it’s very positive not being in Europe anymore.” (Echo)

After adding Sadio Mane to the long list of Southampton stars at Anfield, Liverpool were linked with a move for Sam McQueen earlier this week.

Liverpool have first ever sporting director:
The Reds have not traditionally sported a sporting director to their team but they have now elevated Head of Technical Operations Michael Edwards to the role of sporting director.
Edwards – who joined Liverpool in November 2011 from Tottenham on the recommendation of Damien Comolli – will be responsible for negotiating the financial side of transfers and is expected to replace Ian Ayre who is about to step down. (Daily Mail)
