Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool seemingly ended their title hopes in the Premier League this season after their loss to Swansea at Anfield this weekend.
The Reds were beaten 3-2 at Anfield in what was the Welsh outfits first and only victory at the famous ground in Liverpool. The Reds were at full strength and have no real excuses for their loss but they can take some solace from the way they fought back in the second half.
They were down by a couple of goals in 4 minutes by Fernando Llorente early in the second half but Brazil star Roberto Firmino popped up with a brace to keep Liverpool in the hunt.
Though Swansea got back to get all three points, Firmino’s performance drew praise from all across Europe. The fans of the club were surely distraught but one famous personnel who could not hide his emotion was Spanish striker Antoine Griezmann.
Arguably one of the best players in Europe in his position at the moment, Griezmann, has been in sublime form for Atletico Madrid for a while now but he is not expected to stay at the club for the start of the next season.
He is linked with a world record move to Manchester United while Chelsea and Manchester City are also interested but Griezmann has always been vocal on social media about his love towards players at Anfield.
Over the years, he has tweeted a lot of English striker Daniel Sturridge in his time at Liverpool and on Sunday, Griezmann tweeted that Roberto Firmino is a top class player.
“Firmino is: TOP player” – Twitted Griezmann’s about Liverpool forward about whom the Liverpool manager also speaks highly of very often.
