Liverpool’s gamble with experienced strikers Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli has gone terribly wrong that is why Brendan Rodgers has decided to put his faith in young blood by pressing a transfer move for Villarreal’s highly rated striker Luciano Vietto. The Argentine striker is one of the hottest properties of La Liga and Rodgers wants to him play at Anfield next season.
Speculations are growing wider and wider about the possible sale of Balotelli and Lambert next season and new recruits being brought in to the Mersyside club. Vietto, 21 has managed 12 goals and 2 assists this season for Villarreal in 27 appearances. Vietto’s decisive runs would be teh ideal foil for Daniel Sturridge to feed off the space created by the Argentine.
Ever since his arrival at the football club, Brendan Rodgers has opted to put his faith in youth by believing in the likes of Raheem Sterling, Phillipe Coutinho, Jordan Ibe and Emre Can. By signing Vietto, Rodgers wants to secure the long-term future for the Liverpool. Vietto has 4 years left on his current contract and would cost the Mersyside club in the region of £10-12 million.
Liverpool will be ready to welcome Divock Origi back from his loan spell from Ligue 1 side Lille. Origi was signed last summer for a fee of £10 million and was told to continue his stint with Lille for the season and start his Anfield dream from 2015-16 season. Origi, 22 is another young blood Rodgers has shown faith in and by signing Vietto, Rodgers is building a formidable yet exciting front line for Liverpool.
