Liverpool have rebuffed any advances from Manchester United regarding a bid to sign Raheem Sterling. Several reports are claiming that Sterling is ready to quit the club and will meet the club officials this Friday to reveal his decision.
Following this claim, Manchester United made an inquiry about Sterling earlier in the day as they were hoping to pull off a sensational transfer in the summer.
Unfortunately for Louis Van Gaal and Co. Liverpool have turned down any offer from the red devils, claiming they will not sell their star player to Manchester United.
History does not favor this move either as there has not been a single player who has joined Manchester United directly from Liverpool since 1938. Such is the rivalry between the two clubs, Sterling will have to find a different club even if he is interested in joining Manchester United.
Liverpool have maintained their stance of not selling the player in the summer despite the threat of losing him for free after next season.
European giants Real Madrid and Bayern Munich along with Premier League clubs Chelsea and Arsenal are in line to make a swoop for Sterling once he reveals his decision out in the public. One team, who has been brutally turned down in Sterling’s chase is Manchester United.
