Liverpool have been one of the busiest clubs this summer.
The new manager Jurgen Klopp has made a number of additions to the squad to help strengthen it from the previous seasons and has also let go of a number of players who are not in his frame in the next season.
However, even with less than a week left for the start of the new Premier League season, the manager is still in the market for a left-back and also a midfielder to add mettle to his squad.
The Reds have been linked to a number of names in the transfer window with the likes of Joao Mario, Piotr Zielinski, Mahmoud Dahoud and Axel Witsel linked with a move to the club.
However, the manager has not been able to complete a deal with any of his transfer targets and is still in search of an addition in that position.
Recent reports have also suggested that long-serving midfielder Lucas Leiva is on the verge of a move to Turkey in the coming days which has made Klopp even desperate for a midfielder.
This has seen the club linked with a new name in Leandro Paredes.
The 22-year old Roma midfielder was impressive in his last season on loan at Empoli and has attracted interests from all over Europe recently.
However, the midfielder is not reportedly happy to leave Italy and is looking at another loan deal with Empoli next season.
However, the likes of AS Monaco and Juventus are also interested in his signature which has now made a move away from Roma possible this summer.
Liverpool have now reportedly joined Manchester City and the duo mentioned above in a race for his signature.
The Argentine international is valued at around £16m and if the Premier League clubs can get their hands on him, it will be nothing less than a steal.
At the moment, Empoli looks likely to sign his services for another season on loan but with loads of money and higher things to offer, any of the European giants mentioned above might be able to land their man this summer.
Do you think Liverpool can get their hands on the 22-year old this summer?
