Liverpool have been linked with a £10 million for the Stoke Goal Keeper Asmir Begovic, who has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer if David De Gea decides to join Real Madrid next season.
Begovic’s future has been thrown in the dark after Stoke City manager Mark Hughes dropped the Bosnian Goal Keeper from Stoke’s match day squad to face Swansea this weekend. Such a move signals that Huughes us prepared to cash out on his number1 goal keeper before his contract runs out in 2017.
Begovic has one year left on his contract and Stoke would look to extract the best value for the club. Begovic is currently valued at £10 million and Liverpool are quietly confident about wrapping up the deal for the stopper in the summer.
Manchester United have seen Begovic as the potential man to replace De Gea in the past but were never able to press ahead with a move knowing that De Gea’s future is not yet decided at the club.
Liverpool will keep a close on Begovic’s movement in coming weeks. Another goal keeper which Brendan Rodgers could look at is Fiorentina’s soon to Bosman goal keeper Neto. His contract expires in the summer and Liverpool have previously scouted the goal keeper to replace Simon Mignolet in goal before the next season.
