Shocking: Liverpool might get disqualified from Europa League

Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho is on his way to say goodbye to professional football for 12 months, as he is facing a ban for failing the drugs test. The French international is under UEFA’s investigation for failing his dope test, reports The Mirror.
UEFA are currently doing an investigation on the defender for breaching doping rules and regulations, but the news, which can turn out to be more horrific for the Kopites is: The Reds could be kicked out of the Europa League if at least two players are found to have failed the dope test, the same night. Almost a month ago, Mamadou Sakho failed the dope test after Liverpool’s Europa League victory over their Manchester rivals. The presence of some banned fat-burning substance has been found in the sample.
Sakho’s “B” Sample’s analysis is scheduled to be done on Tuesday, thus the Anfield authorities including manager Jurgen Klopp decided, not to feature Sakho in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle until the UEFA investigation is done. Although Kolo Toure was also penalised by UEFA back in 2011, for a similar kind of incident, it is believed that 26-year-old Sakho, can even face a ban of up to two years if found guilty of any offence. And that could rule him out of France’s squad for the Euro 2016 as well as Klopp’s side.
Back in September 2013, FIFA already warned players by letting them know about the dangers of taking fat burning drugs or supplements. Though there is no suggestion till now that Liverpool, who face Villarreal in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final on Thursday, could get kicked out of the Europa League, as there is only one player found guilty. But things can get worse anytime if the investigation reveals more players doing the same! At least two players need to fail the dope test on the very same night for UEFA to take such an action!
