Liverpool Eyeing Manchester City Outcast To Solve Weakness In The Squad

After yet another trophyless season at Anfield, Liverpool made a number of changes to their side in the summer transfer window with new manager Jurgen Klopp making sure that he only has players that fit his style of play.

This saw the manager let go of a number of players in January while also spending on a few purchases. While some have made great strides at the club, one player who has failed to capture the imagination of the fans and the manager is German shot stopper Loris Karius.

Having walked into the first team this season to replace the error prone Simon Mignolet on goal, Karius, also had a couple of forgettable games which saw Klopp revert back to Mignolet on goal and this has seen the manager ponder over a move for yet another shot stopper in January.

It is clear that Liverpool have a problem in that positions and reports today suggest that Klopp wants to put an end to this issue and that he is readying a bid for English international Joe Hart.

The 29-year old Manchester City man was deemed surplus to requirements at the Etihad this season and was sent on loan to Torino in Italy. He made a decent start to his career in Europe away from England and is still the first choice shot stopper for the English national side making him a super option for the clubs in the Premier League.

However, Hart is not expected to move to the smaller teams in the league leaving very few potential clubs for him in the Premier League this season.

Torino would want to keep him at the club beyond this season but Hart, who is on a £120,000-a-week contract with City, is expected to come back to the Premier League and Liverpool are now ready to make a move for him in January.

Jurgen Klopp is serious about his team’s goal keeping situation at the moment and has been looking at a number of alternatives in Jordan Pickford from Sunderland and Kasper Schmeichel from Leicester City.

But Joe Hart is a great option for the Reds because of his experience in England.

Having played over 100 league games, Hart, is one of the most experienced players in his position in England and though he is at times nervy, his time in the league will allow him to walk into the first team at Liverpool giving Loris Karius a senior pro to learn from.

Having Karius as an understudy to arguably the best shot stopper in the country’s national team will only help the young shot stopper learn the game in England and can help him come good in the long term.

But at the moment, Liverpool have a goal keeping problem that can be easily solved by Hart. Do you think Joe Hart is a decent option for Liverpool?
