Jurgen Klopp’s young brigade did the job at Anfield on Wednesday as they saw off the FA Cup replay of the 3rd round with Exeter. Joe Allen continued his good form and opened he scoring while goals from Sheyi Ojo and Teixeira in the second half finished off a good performance by the home team.

Here are the player ratings for the Liverpool players for this game:

Simon Mignolet (3):

The Belgian had very little to do as the visitors had just one shot on target on the night and that too late in the game. Solid on the ball whenever called upon.

Connor Randall (3):

Showed plenty of zeal to go forward and give Liverpool width in the final third but was aware of the game situation and was sound defensively in an impressive performance.

Tiago Ilori (3):

Was largely untroubled by the Exeter attackers but was in command at the heart of the Liverpool defense giving the visitors not even a sniff at the goal.

Jose Enrique (2.5):

The makeshift center back had his nervy moments on the night but was largely untested and comfortable at the back for the Reds.

Brad Smith (4):

A man of the match performance from the Australian international Brad Smith who put in a great shift at Anfield on Wednesday. Smith was lively up and down his flank and got himself an assist for Allen’s goal. Linked up well with the likes of Benteke and will surely fight for a first team spot after this superb performance.

Kevin Stewart (3):

Though the quality of the opposition was not high, Stewart was superb in the middle of the park for Liverpool. He was confident on the ball and controlled the tempo of the game for the home side.

Joe Allen (3.5):

After an impressive outing against Arsenal, Joe Allen continued his goal scoring form as he opened the scoring from close range in the first quarter of the game. Was bright when in possession of the ball creating chance after chance for his teammates.

Cameroon Brannagan (3):

Tested the Exeter keeper with a few good strikes from outside the box and linked well with his front three in a solid performance by the youngster.

Jordan Ibe (3.5):

One of the best players for Liverpool on the night, Ibe just embarrassed the Exeter back four as he created plenty of chances and was really unlucky to have come out of the game without a goal.

Joao Carlos Teixeira (3.5):

Had some great moments in the game where he set up his teammates before getting a goal for himself in the second half. An impressive performance surely deserving of a senior team call-up by the attacking midfielder.

Christian Benteke (2.5):

The Belgian tried really hard to impress the Kop but it was just not his day as he could not get one past the visitors after having tried vigorously for the whole game.

Jon Flanagan (2.5):

Made a return to the first team after 20 months and slotted in straight away on the right but failed to make a direct impact on the game.

Sheyi Ojo (3.5):

Scored the best goal of the evening with a curler from inside the box capping off a really good performance by the youngster.

Pedro Chirivella (2.5):

Had just 10 minutes to play on the night as he tried to impress his manager as he looked to be assured in possession.
