Liverpool are lining up a surprise move for Real Madrid full-back Fabio Coentrao, according to the reports in Spain.
Catalan newspaper Sport claim that Real Madrid are willing to let the defender leave the club this summer and Reds are keen to bring him to Anfield.
Manager Jurgen Klopp was hit hard with the injury of James Milner who has played as a full back and midfielder during pre-season. The injury meant Klopp had to rely on left-back Alberto Moreno.
Moreno who has started against Arsenal have had a nightmare on the pitch as he failed miserably and conceded a penalty to Arsenal in a crunch game. The Spaniard made a forgettable performance which makes Klopp look for a fullback before the close of the transfer window.
Fabio Coentrao has lost his place in Real Madrid first team due to the string of injuries he faced since 2014. The player was sent on loan to Monaco last season where he faced yet another setback with an injury.
The Portuguese international has faded out from the limelight as he lost his place in the national team as well. However, Reds are keen to provide him an opportunity with an initial loan spell and an option to buy him permanently next summer.
However, Coentrao is not expected to be fit till October due to the injury he faced at Monaco in April.
