According to latest reports, Liverpool have agreed personal terms with Barcelona’s right back Martin Montoya ahead of a potential transfer this summer. It is also reported that the Reds have lodged a bid for the player as he has failed to break into first team at Camp Nou.
Liverpool have various issues as far as their formations are concerned as Brendan Rodgers started with a traditional back four at the start of the season and then switched to a three man back line back in December which gave them great success.
With their right-back Glen Johnson running out of contract and expected to leave Anfield at the end of the season, Liverpool are looking for new options as Brendan Rodgers have switched back to traditional back four recently.
Brendan Rodgers is currently using Emre Can as right wing-back, but the player is more a right mid-fielder than a right-back. The 24-year old is believed to have the quality to break into first team at Anfield as they are in search of a first choice full-back.
It is not a surprise Liverpool searching for a full-back as Jon Flanagan who have impressed last season is suffering from a series of injuries which will see him the entire first half of the next season too.
Both Liverpool and Barcelona are yet to agree on a transfer fee but the player made a big statement in favor of moving to Anfield.
