According to latest reports, Liverpool have slapped a £60 million price tag on contract rebel Raheem Sterling. The young winger is expected to leave Anfield this summer.
Liverpool are looking for a bid around £50 million to “reluctantly” leave the player this summer. The amount meant that clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United need to spend more for the youngster.
The player have earlier rejected a contract extension offered by Liverpool which would see him earn £100,000-per-week, an immense contract considering the fact he earns only £35,000-per-week on the current contract.
The 20-year old want to join a club which would earn trophies and Arsenal are tipped to be his preferred destination. A bid in the region of £60 million would definitely keep Arsenal completely off the radar as Wenger needs a quality striker and defensive midfielder for next season above every other transfer.
Manchester City who are looking favorites to sign Sterling are ready to offer £45 million for the player but with a price tag raised to £60 million they want to include Edin Dzeko in the deal which would see City get their player for a much lesser amount.
Liverpool are in need of quality striker for next season as their summer signings Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert failed miserably during the season and the Reds have expressed their interest in City’s Dzeko which could mean that Manchester City look favorites to sign sterling.
