Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is considering a move for Porto’s central defender Bruno Martins Indi, reports Mirror.
The Reds have signed seven players so far as Klopp is making the squad according to his plans and Bruno Martins Indi could get straight away into the team as Liverpool are facing defensive problems.
The defense has been the weak area for the Reds as it is well exploited by Arsenal in the season opener as the Reds conceded three goals to Gunners but they were rescued by their talented attackers who won the game by 4-3.
The 24-year old was one of the most talented young defenders when he moved to Porto after an impressive 2014 world cup. He managed to build on his game at the Portuguese club. He can play both as a central defender as well as left back. He also played as right back at times which makes him an excellent option for Klopp to have for the current season.
Considering the fact that Mamadou Sakho might leave Liverpool after falling out with Klopp due to his lack of discipline and James Milner injury meant Klopp should look for a centre-back and a left-back before the closure of transfer window.
Alberto Moreno who was backed by Klopp has flopped miserably against Arsenal as questions were raised over his place in Liverpool’s squad. Bruno Martins Indi would resolve Reds defensive woes as he can play in multiple positions and can add much-needed quality and depth to Liverpool’s defense which is hampering at the moment.
